Charitable Giving

Medline’s mission to improve the quality of people’s lives is deeply integrated in our corporate culture and even more so in our corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

Our goal is to support local communities in which we do business and live, but this mission also extends further afield to developing countries. Financial support, products or even time are some of the many ways for us to give back to the community.

Local Community Engagement

Each of our European offices has a local donation committee that selects organisations to support.

In the UK, we have supported the following organisations:

  • 2017: Shine – This organisation provides special support for anyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. Shine also has a network for parents, families, caregivers and the professional care staff. Learn more about Shine.

  • 2018: The Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital – As a purpose-built breast cancer prevention centre, the Nightingale Centre offers diagnostic services and treatments. The centre also provides training and conducts research to better prevent this disease. Learn more about the Nightingale Centre.

Product Donations

Medline believes that access to reliable, affordable and high-quality healthcare services should be attainable for every community. That is why we have partnered with International Health Partners (IHP) to provide medical supplies to healthcare facilities in need around the world.

Based in the United Kingdom, IHP is a registered charity that acts as an intermediary between healthcare companies and aid agencies. In collaboration with IHP, Medline has donated more than 20 tonnes of supplies to help communities in countries such as Iraq, Guatemala and Haiti.

Personal Involvement: Medical Service Trips

Medline provides its employee with the opportunity to go on a medical service trip with our partners in order to contribute to humanitarian missions in developing countries. Employees are also welcome to seek out their own opportunity.

went to Beirut, Lebanon, with the Global Smile Foundation (27 April – 6 May 2018)

‘The work this organisation does is amazing. They really save lives. The doctors and nurses give up their holidays and often pay for their own travel. I am not a clinician, but I am so happy to have the chance to contribute'.

Emily Janke,

went to Trujillo, Peru, with the Global Smile Foundation (25 May – 3 June 2018)

‘I’ve felt very blessed the past few years, especially in my ability to travel and see the world, and I feel like the Global Smile Foundation has given me an opportunity to pay it forward and make a difference’.
