United Kingdom Donation Committee in 2017

The UK donation committee fielded suggestions from colleagues for an organisation to support in 2017. The nomination that stood out the most was Shine, a UK-based charity that provides specialist support from before birth and throughout the life of anyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. The support does not end with the patient; Shine has a network for parents, families, carers and the professional care staff.

Shine’s goal is to help people get the best out of life and celebrate it. To fulfil this goal, they provide comprehensive information to all involved parties. Not only do they offer medical and legal information, but they also host networking events and support groups for people with these conditions, and are happy to work with their school staff and employers to foster understanding.

The UK donation committee is happy to support such a worthy cause.
